About this deal

Edgson ( The Emperor's New Clothes) lifts this familiar tribute book above the ordinary with her impressionistic settings and backgrounds. This book celebrates so many things - the love of a dad and child, the excitement generated by the imagination. I can't believe this is a New York Times bestseller when me and my friend Kyle did a similar project years ago and we didn't make a nickel on it! Seems to work better with a boy and his father, but I think the girls in the group will still like it.

Ashley is obsessed with her social standing at her own school, devastated by her dad moving out because he's gay. Little Bear and his dad do wonderful things -- exploring high mountains, swimming in the rain, and telling stories as the stars come out. It's a lovely book, beautiful illustrations and great for teaching rhyming words if you're little one is eager to learn new sounds whilst learning to read. The issustrations are wonderful, and the imagination of the little girl makes this story a very worthwhile read. There are snapping crocodiles, stomping dinosaurs, sleeping princesses and golden treasure – but that’s not even the best bit. It's just a pity we have to wait a year or so before he can read it to our son when he can fully understand it. However, if the parcel has be sent and consequently ends up elsewhere, we will be unable to offer a refund. The most important thing to teach from this book is no matter who takes care of you or whoever is in your family that the love from them is never different. A superbly imaginative book and a lovely story about the closeness of the little girl and her father. Readers will be able to relate the love, comfort and utter joy oozing from the pages to the special bonding time that sharing a story is.

Being with Dad is so much fun, from trips to the farm and learning to swim, to hunting for bugs and sharing warm cuddles. Benjamin Dean crafts some brilliant comedy scenes in this sweet, heart-warming story about Archie’s determination to go to Pride in London to support his Dad. It is a great story that shows how a child can idolize a parent so much and how that makes a difference in a child’s life. His dad's acting weird, his mum too, and all he wants is for everything to go back to normal, to three months before when his parents were happy and still lived together. I've read it plenty of times already to my kids and like to change and add parts to see if they're paying attention. My father died about 30 years back, so this book was a painful yet joyful trip thru memory lane when I had a dad that treated me as well as he could, my mom's claims of his infidelity notwithstanding. My dad is the best/ daddy bear there could be," reads the text, as the young ursine narrator and his father cuddle under a blanket.

Bedtime is a special reading time so I bought this book for Dad to read when she's all snuggled up in bed with her own teddies. This is a kind book which frames the topic of a parent coming out with a gentle story about decent people dealing as best they can with seismic changes to their lives, and one which will be warmly welcomed by readers waiting to read about a story that mirrors their own. Our youngest Baby Bird turned 1 - and we want to build a better future for her and all babies on the planet. v) I recommend this book for teachers who could start a conversation with their students on the topic of what kinds of things students enjoy doing with their parents. In fact, this relatively young company is now a genuine market leader, famous worldwide for their cute, cuddly, and always innovative products.

This poem about a bear cub and the father who loves him enough to treat him to the good things life can offer is bittersweet and beautiful at the same time. Themes: The themes of this book are the importance of having a role model and knowing that parents will love you no matter what. This soft padded book with its sturdy pages shares a story of a little bear and the love he has for his dad.

Think this book helps to open up discussion (as long as you are aware of students’ home lives) about figures who nurture and care and play with you. Personal Response/ Recommendation: This book was a very enjoyable and reminded me of my childhood with my dad. The perfect story to share at bedtime, this beautiful book celebrates Dads and the love and laughter they bring. It’s nice to see a “dad” portrayed as the nurturer, which is not very common amongst children books (I feel like the general norm tends to portray a mother).
